OUR MISSION
We work in collaboration with communities to develop access to local, sustainably grown food.
We carry out our mission through three core pillars:

OUR STORY
Just Roots began in the Fall of 2017, when the co-founders began to work together with their community to expand access to sustainably grown food. In 2020, during the height of the pandemic, we partnered with Saint James Catholic Church & Food Pantry to convert a vacant lot into the Saint James Community Farm, a 1/2 acre fruit and vegetable farm located on Chicago’s south side.
In 2021, we partnered with Grace United Church of Christ and Good Vibes to establish It Takes A Village Community Farm, a 3 acre farm located in Sauk Village, IL.
